Dalziel sets career FG record in Linfield win over Pacific
Linfield football leaned on the veteran presence of senior kicker Gavin Dalziel in last weekend's 23-6 win over Pacific at Maxwell Field. Dalziel's three field goals and two extra points not only made him the program's new leader in field goals made, but also earned him the Northwest Conference's Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors. The Brier, Washington, native made field goals of 34, 35, and 26-yards helped the Wildcats stay ahead of the Boxers from start to finish. The 26-yarder at the midway point of the fourth quarter moved Dalziel into sole possession in the top spot of the Linfield football record books for field goals made; the 36th of his career. He passed Garrett Wales (2002-2005) and Willy Warne (2016-2018) who previously led with 34 in their careers. Dalziel also added two successful point-after attempts on Saturday, bringing his career total to 184. The son of Mindy and Don Dalziel, the 'Cats kicker is currently majoring in Exercise Science and Secondary Education. Dalziel and the team look to keep their three-game winning streak rolling into Family Weekend on campus, set to face the Whitworth Pirates at 1 p.m. on Maxwell Field.
